Membership
Committee
Chair: Kristin Stahl
Co-Vice Chairs: Lauren Anderson and Renu Thomas
University Representative: Marty Moses
Meets: 2nd Thursday of the month, 4:30 pm EST
Committee Goals
The Membership Committee is responsible for attracting and involving
women alumnae who are leaders in their chosen fields. To do this, they will
facilitate identification of and maintain a pool of candidates; select those
candidates to be recommended for membership on the President’s Council;
identify members whose terms are recommended for renewal; encourage
involvement of members and recognize them for their contributions; and provide
orientation for new members.
Strengthen the activities of the four subcommittees:
This year, the Membership Committee set four objectives to guide its
recruitment and retention goals:
- Finalize the by-laws and get approved by Hunter
- Membership management - Determine the phased in
approach for the term limits and focus on renewals for
next year
- Update Nomination form - look to enhance information
for the selection committee, current form is limiting.
- Increase activity amongst membership - look to
improve activity levels, working with other committees.
The work of the Membership Committee is perhaps the most cross-cutting of
all committees. Our fundamental purpose is to ensure that PCCW is comprised
of a vibrant, active, distinguished, and representative group of Cornell alumnae
at all times. To do this, we must recruit and retain women who meet our
membership criteria, ensure that members can play a meaningful role in
PCCW, and promote positive relationships among PCCW members.
