Committee
Chair: Lynda Gould
Co-Vice Chairs: Sue Caplan and Charlotte Collister
University Representative: Rosemary Silbey
Meets: 4th Tuesday, every other month, 5:00 pm EST
Committee Goals
The Development Committee shall be responsible for providing leadership to the
President’s Council in raising resources to support its projects and University
initiatives approved by the Steering Committee. The Committee shall also
encourage the visible participation of women as volunteers and donors in the
University’s fund raising initiatives.
-
Provide stewardship to all Leadership Fund donors.
-
Encourage participation of our members in PCCW fund-raising activities and educate
new members about their need to support PCCW and Cornell.
-
Continue to develop ideas and programs about philanthropy for education and outreach
to members.
Women give to change the world; men to preserve it.
Philanthropy by women is driven by the six C’s; generally women want to:
-
Change - Women want their gift to make a difference
-
Create - Many women give to create a new order
-
Connect - Women want to stay connected with their gift
-
Commit - Women are committed to giving of their time AND their
money
-
Collaborate - Women receive pleasure when they collaborate with others
in their giving
-
Celebrate - Need we say more!
